Workplace Visits

Workplace visits are full or half day experience in local STEM companies for up to 20 students Year 9-11. Each visit includes a site tour, an opportunity to meet the staff and learn more about their work and a practical activity related to the business.

Our workplace visits take place throughout the year as Science Oxford liaises with local schools and businesses to partner them together for the day.

Workplace visits offer students an opportunity to experience a new environment, learn about STEM career paths and learn new skills.

Wheatley Park School at Solid State Logic. “I have learnt about careers I had previously had no idea about and alternative career paths to Uni,” JoJo

Space Studio School visited Prodrive. “This is an excellent partnership opportunity, which does not pose difficulties in terms of organisation,” Prodrive volunteer

Science Oxford facilitate the visit and provide risk assessments. Schools are responsible for their own transport and need to provide a supervisory staff member but Science Oxford can usually commit to helping out on the day.
