Our Top 3 ideas!
1 – I Love Your City/ I Love My City – Grenoble twinning photography project
Your school could take part in an exciting twinning project, as photographs snapped by primary school children from Oxford and Grenoble will be exhibited next year! The twinning committee is on the look out for four more primary schools in Oxford to be part of a creative photography project developed by Grenoble Primary School in France, launching in spring 2018. Pupils will work with a professional photographer to take and share photos of Oxford with pupils in Grenoble (and vice versa). The photos will be exhibited along with a commentary created by the students. Contact Cathy Lewis on firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
2 – Gopher Science Lab: free fun
How do butterflies drink? Can you smell as well as a shark? Why do slugs and snails need slime? These and other very important conundrums are tackled in ‘Gopher Science Lab’, a free booklet available from the Royal Society of Biology. It’s full of fun practical ideas designed for upper KS2, all of which use simple, easy to find equipment and ingredients.
3 – Superstar Challenge
From worm-charming championships to journey sticks, fingerprinting techniques or testing the perfect cup of tea, sign up for the Star and Superstar Awards with the British Science Association for free super-fun resources for Primary schools! The website is packed with easy to use resources, including specially adapted challenges for SEN students. Plus, your Superstars can win a certificate and iron-on badge for completing challenges! Registration is free.
So – now you are brimming with ideas for super-science sessions next September, relax and have a happy summer holiday!
